Summary
He might be young, but Colm Francis McGee already recognizes the truth: he is very sick and he's not getting better. His mother, Cathleen, fiercely believes her faith will protect her ailing son, but Colm is not so sure. Afraid to discuss what might very well happen to him with his mother, Colm turns to his benevolent and logical doctor for advice. With wisdom far beyond his years, Colm has come to terms with his probable fate, but he does have one special wish. He wants to meet the father who abandoned his beloved mother -- a man he never knew. Unable to refuse, Colm and Cathleen, accompanied by Dr. Basu, set off to find Colm's missing parent. But their quest will lead them to something much bigger. It will be a journey of emotional discovery that will test their love, force them to confront their fears and require that they face the ultimate question: Can a child give his loved ones hope, peace and proof of heaven?
