- Summary
-
- "16-year-old Angel struggles to free herself from the trap of prostitution in which she is caught."--
- Call said, Angel do you love me? I said yes. Now I know in a single breath of yes, yes, you can hear your soul leaking out of your mouth. A yes can change you inside, make all the rules go sky-why-not... Sixteen-year-old Angel meets Call, and she think she's found someone who truly understands her, who can keep her from ever being lonely again. Soon she's taking drugs and has moved in with him. Then she finds out just what Call means when he says he wants her to be nice to his friend. When Angel's best friend goes missing, like so many other girls who work the streets of Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, Angel is scared and wants to leave Call and this life. But it isn't until he brings home Melli, a girl only eleven years old, and tells Angel to show her the ropes, that Angel finds the strength to do for another what she couldn't do for herself. --
