Summary

In the year 2179, Mars has been colonized by Earth, populated by humans and "Second Type" robots. "Third Types," illegal humanoid robots, are living undetected by the Martian population until one man vows to destroy them. Naomi Armitrage is a Martian cop and also a "Third" who must now fight for her survival. Her partner hates robots but must face this prejudice when he is injured and receives a cybernetic limb replacement. This is a story about a human on the verge of becoming a machine and a machine on the verge of becoming human
