Summary
Presents four short films inspired by the Ten Commandments. Each story corresponds to a commandment and centers on different residents of the same modern Warsaw apartment complex. An onlooker--the mysterious Young man appearing in each segment--unifies the films. Decalogue IV: Anka is a young drama student who has a close relationship with her widowed father. When he goes on a trip abroad Anka finds a letter revealing that he may not be her real father. Decalogue V: A psychotic youth, randomly and brutally murders a taxi-driver and is subsequently put on trial and found guilty. Decalogue VI: A young man falls in love with an older woman who lives in an apartment across the courtyard. He watches her succession of lovers until she confronts him with a sexual invitation. Decalogue VII: Six-year-old Ania is the object of a struggle for possession between her mother and her grandmother
