Summary

This is the story of Arthur Brown, who is found lashed to a raft, adrift and dying with cold and hunger, by Captain Rhines. Rhines had been helped as a child by Arthur's father, who later died at sea. He saves his benefactor's son and bestows both his time and property to aid repay his old debt.
