Lee Hauser and Emily Wang are washed up. After several years of rock star fame in the 80s, Lee no longer has a recording contract-the carefree life, the easy money is gone. When Lee overdoses in a Canadian motel room, Emily is arrested and imprisoned. Starting over in Paris, Emily is broke, while old rock 'n' roll friends blame her for Lee's death. She is determined to establish a relationship with her son Jay, parked with Lee's parents in Vancouver since infancy.
